Skincare Routine for The (Lazy) Practical Minds

Is doing the bare minimum actually the secret key to a good skin? My skin has always been so low maintenance, yet well adjusted to my practical lifestyle. Any skincare and make-up I use, I make sure it would fit in my small travel pouch. I committed to keep my routine really short and simple, and have never applied more than 5 layers of different skincare at once. For my laziness, and also the practicality. Does that mean my skin  has never been a problem for me? At least not in my early 20’s life.  The Backstory I had my worst acne breakout during my puberty, when I was sixteen, I was trying out one facial treatment -  you know, the one where they poke your pores because they claim they know when your future acne is gonna appear, kind of your fortune teller but for pimples - intending to clear some blackheads I had. That one facial treatment turned into an entire face ‘purging’, triggered acne that never appeared before in my life to suddenly popped up, and that kept going for months.

Reviewing 2019's Underrated Hair Dryer

"I thought flattening iron  was my best friend,  until I realized  it was more like  a  hot, but mentally abusive   best friend." I have a love-hate relationship towards my hair throughout my teenage years. Having a thick and wavy hair might be a blessing to many people, but growing up, I never knew how to deal with it. Before the internet, there is really no one to let me know the do's and don'ts, and which product to buy and use. I used to just wake up and go to school with frizzy and static lion hair every day. Hair dryer made my hair even frizzier, so flattening iron was my only option. I didn't know how much work it takes only to maintain my hair in a normal state. After so much time researching on the internet and having the first-hand experience of over-processed bleached hair, I feel pretty well-occupied on all the information about hair care. I mean, just to keep it not breaking after being colored and bleached, there are so many lists I need to keep in m

VIDEO: MOSCHINO x H&M Runway, NYC

I was invited to attend H&M x Moschino collaboration, or as the official brand stated, 'HMoschino'. Inspired by the MTV era, Jeremy Scott poured out 90's hip-hop culture for H&M with his own twist of quirky sense of humor, and nothing is ever too extravagant for Moschino, because it's in the DNA. Collection comes out 8th November 2018 worldwide. Video shoot & edited by me for H&Moschino. Music: Sixteen Dreams by Waylon Thornton and the Heavy Hands

How I Wear Flannel For 5 Days Without Being Basic

As usual, I’d like to challenge myself daily to make dressing up a little bit more exciting. By limiting myself, it opens my mind to new possibilities of dressing up and keeps me away from the mundaneness of boring wardrobe.      Sometimes people confuse flannels and plaids, what’s the difference between them, you might ask? Flannel is the soft, wool or cotton fabric material, and plaid is the pattern. Traditionally, most flannel pattern is plaid, but not all plaid is made of flannel — only the good quality ones are. Back in my grunge teenager days, I collected many pieces of oversized plaid flannel shirts due to its effortless and relaxed feel. If there is anything as cozy as it is classic, effortless, versatile, and acquire no fuss to dress up in, I’d pick a piece of flannel shirt ready for any day. Buttoned up, layered, worn as dress, it can turn any fancy black dress into a nonchalant and effortless look. So here is how I pair my flannel shirts in 5 different ways other than a

Valentine's Day Styling & Interview: Mom & Dad

It's almost Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day at the same time, and as I was sitting with my parents I thought when could be a better timing to interview them about the day full of love (and luck!), ask them about their personal style, and do a laid back photo shoot with them.  My mom and dad was never the matchy-matchy couple, so this time I dressed them up in a pastel color coordinate outfits, while I wear the more daring color coordinated pieces  (but still going for Dad's oversized red sweater because I choose comfort over everything)  which I can use for both Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day.  As the Chinese New Year celebration is strongly identical with luck, I managed to do a little research and channeling my inner feng shui master to find out of what is the lucky colors to wear on the big day, and the answer is: red, yellow, green, followed by  warm earthy colors like orange, beige or brown. So if you're not really a fan of bright red or your hipsteri
